The motto – “Global cinema for the society of the future”.
Its main goal is help to modernize the industry and create content that will allow today’s Ukrainian society to change and adapt to the new realities of life, and continue to do so into the future.
There are film institutes in many European countries and the USA. Most of them are created by the State and serve as the State Regulator and Financier of the film industry. Film Institutes may be divided in two ways: State and Civic-State (European and Anglo-Saxon).
The State Institute is one where a film institute is created and financed by the State at all stages of development (Polish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish Film Institutes and others in Europe).
The Civic-State is one where a film institute is originally established as a public or private organization and then joins the State financing and management, but a film institute remains a public organization. The British and the American Film Institute went that way.
The Ukrainian Film Institute goes by the Anglo-Saxon model. It sees this kind of development as most effective in terms of the potential for the collapse of a public administration, or possible government deficits. No State should help us, however, we need to assist the State. The main goal is to create innovative and profitable film business in Ukraine, based on the international market.
